Open centralOS

Meeting recorder and phone app

The centralOS app for iPhone has the same account and centralAgent as the web, plus a meeting recorder. It also works with Siri and the Apple Watch.

Record a meeting

Start a recording in any of these ways:

  • Add the Meeting Recorder widget to the Home Screen or Lock Screen, and tap it.
  • Add Record Meeting to Control Center, and tap it.
  • Say "Hey Siri, start a meeting in centralOS".
  • On an Apple Watch, open centralOS and tap Record.

The Meeting Recorder screen shows the time and the sound level. Tap Stop (or say "Hey Siri, stop the meeting in centralOS") when the meeting ends. While it records, the phone's Lock Screen shows how it's going.

The phone can be locked or put away while it records. A phone call or Siri interrupting the recording ends it, and what was recorded so far is kept.

What happens after

A few minutes after stopping, a Meeting notes ready notification arrives. Tapping it opens the note, which has:

  • the recording, to play back;
  • a short summary;
  • Key points;
  • Action items, with who's doing each one when that was said;
  • the Transcript, with who said what.

If the meeting was in the calendar at that time, the note is linked to that event and its contacts, so it shows on their pages too. The recording itself is kept in Files. On the web, the note is in Notes.

Ask centralAgent during a meeting

Say "agent" and the request out loud during the recording, such as "Agent, book a follow-up with Jane next Tuesday at 10" or "Agent, make a quote for the new deck".

After the meeting, centralAgent works through every request in a new chat and lists what it did, and a notification opens that chat. If a request is missing something, such as which contact, it's skipped and the chat says why.

Nothing is sent on its own. Emails, and anything else that needs approval such as changing an invoice, wait in that chat until you press Send or Approve. The chat is also in Agents on the web.

Siri shortcuts

These work from Siri, the Shortcuts app and Spotlight. Say "Hey Siri" and then:

  • "Ask centralOS" asks centralAgent a question.
  • "New chat in centralOS" opens a new centralAgent chat.
  • "Start a meeting in centralOS" and "Stop the meeting in centralOS".
  • "New note in centralOS", "New event in centralOS", "New invoice in centralOS" and "New post in centralOS" open a new one ready to fill in.

Things to know

  • Recording, writing the notes and carrying out requests use the plan's AI allowance. If it's run out, the recording is still saved to Files, but no notes are written. centralAgent covers usage limits.
  • Recordings use the plan's storage.
  • Tell people when a meeting is being recorded.
  • The app is for iPhone and Apple Watch. Siri shortcuts need iOS 18 or later.
