Open centralOS

Email

centralOS has its own email. Each person in the business has an email address, shown at the top right of the Email page, and email sent to it arrives there. Once the business connects its own domain, you can use addresses like sam@yourbusiness.com.au instead. Domains has those steps.

Send an email

  1. Open Email in the sidebar and press +. A New Email opens on the right.
  2. From is your address. If you have more than one, such as info@, pick which to send from.
  3. Type the address in To. Press the arrow beside To to add Cc or Bcc.
  4. Write a Subject and the message.
  5. Optional: press Attach to add a file from Files or upload one from the computer, or drag files onto the email. Press Template to start from a saved email template.
  6. Press Send Email, or Save draft to finish it later. Drafts are under Drafts on the Email page.

centralAgent can write an email for you too. It opens a filled-in New Email for you to check and send.

Read and reply

  • Inbox holds new email, Sent what you've sent, and Archived what you've put away.
  • Click an email to open it. Reply and Reply All are at the bottom.
  • Archive moves it out of the Inbox, and Delete removes it. Right-click an email in the list for the same options and Mark as read or Mark as unread.
  • Click a sender's address to save them with Create contact.

Email a contact or a file

  • On a contact's page, click their email address, or click the contact's name at the top and choose Send email.... Emails with that contact are listed on their page under Email, and a project's emails under Emails on the project page.
  • To send a file from Files, start a new email, press Attach and pick it.
  • On a sale, each document and attached file has an Email button when you hover over it. Sending quotes and invoices is in Invoices.

Signature

  1. Make a signature as an email template on the Templates page.
  2. In Settings > Email > Email Signature, press Select template and choose it.
  3. New emails add it while Signature is ticked at the bottom of the email.

Your email address

  • Settings > Email > centralOS username is the first part of your centralOS email address. To change it, type the new name, wait for the green tick that says it's free, and press Save beside it. The username is also used when centralOS sends things for you, such as invoices.
  • Tick Forward inbound emails to to also get a copy of every email at the address you log in with, such as your Gmail.

Shared addresses like info@

Once the business has its own email domain, Settings > Email shows Email address. Add aliases such as info@ or bookings@ there. Every team member given the same alias receives its email and can send from it.

Things to know

  • Email is on plans that include it.
  • Linking your own domain for email is in Domains. If the business already gets its email through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, read it before changing anything.
