centralAgent
centralAgent is your personal assistant built into centralOS. It can find anything in the business, and do most of the work: create contacts, quotes and invoices, book events, write emails and notes, match bank transactions, build the website and more. Ask it in plain words, the way you'd ask a person.
Start a chat
- Open Agents and press +.
- Type in Ask me anything..., or press Dictate and speak.
- Press Send.
Things to try:
- "Who owes us money?"
- "Make a quote for Jane Smith for a new deck, 20 square metres at $180 a square metre."
- "Book a site visit with the Smiths on Friday at 10."
- "What's on this week?"
- "Write a post about the job we just finished."
Each chat keeps its history, so you can come back to it from Agents. Click the chat's name at the top for Rename and Move to bin.
While it's working, anything typed is queued and sent when it's done. Stop cuts it off.
Give it files and records
- Press Attach to add a Contact, Event, sale or purchase (Invoices), Note, Project or file, or drag files and photos onto the chat.
- It can read PDFs, photos, spreadsheets and documents, such as a photo of a receipt or a supplier's quote. It can't listen to audio or watch video.
What it asks first
centralAgent goes ahead with most things, then shows what it did. It stops and asks first before anything that leaves the business or changes money:
- Sending an email: it opens the email ready to check, with Send and Don't send.
- Publishing a post, or creating a quote or invoice document: it offers a preview first.
- Changing a sale, purchase, bank transaction or how it's categorised.
- Moving things to the bin, merging contacts, or making a file public.
You can press Deny (or Don't send, Keep and so on) and tell it what to change instead.
Keep a chat going while working
Press Minimise to sidebar at the top of a chat. It shrinks to a centralAgent button at the bottom of the sidebar, and keeps working while you move around centralOS. Click it to open the chat again, and Restore to put it back.
A project's page also has agent chats about that job. Click a chat's name and choose Add to project… to move a chat there.
Teach it how the business works
All of this is in Settings > Agents:
- Business instructions: what every agent in the business should always do, such as "Quotes are valid for 30 days" or "Write in Australian English".
- Instructions just for me: only your own chats follow these, and they win over the business instructions.
- Memories: facts the agent saves as it learns, such as a preference or a supplier's habits. You can add one, edit it or delete it. Just for me or Shared decides who it applies to.
- Skills: step-by-step ways of doing a task, such as how you onboard a new client. The agent follows a skill when a request matches. Gallery has ready-made ones to add, and Add skill writes your own.
- Model: which AI model and effort new chats start with, just for you.
To give one chat its own instructions, click its name at the top and choose Instructions.
Usage limits
The plan includes a monthly amount of AI use, shared by everyone in the business. Settings > Plan & Usage shows it under Agent, with when it resets.
On paid plans there's also a Session limit for each person, which resets 5 hours after you start. When either runs out, the chat says so and when it resets. Moving to a bigger plan gives more.
Things to know
- centralAgent can make mistakes. Check anything important, such as amounts on an invoice, before it goes to a customer.
- It only sees this business's information, and what's attached to the chat.
